Origins

This is Drulag's first journal entry, and the account he points to whenever he's asked where the Interdimensional Creatures come from. In it, he describes roughly eight years spent working quietly as an artist and carpenter, a period of isolation that ended after an accident with a snow-shovel invention he was building left him with broken ribs.

Recovering, he spent a month on over-the-counter cold and flu medication. When he stopped taking it, the visions began: figures he came to understand as another life form, entities “emulating the human form,” appearing to him and, he believes, attempting to communicate through images, songs, and intuition.

The entry goes on to describe what he was shown: multiple universes, “god planets” the combined size of universes, and a central realm he calls heaven, pink and blue, like cotton candy, and vast beyond the universes he knows. He closes by asking for help decoding what he's being shown.

Drawing what he saw is how the Interdimensional Creatures collection began, and later how the songs recorded as Ulag began too.
